Thanks to ALL!!!!

We had such a wonderful time at the wedding, I wish everyone could have been there! Photos are in the processing stage, just as soon as I get them prepared I will upload for you to check out! Thanks so much to all of you for all that you've done to make it so perfect. It was the perfect combination of casual and elegant, and we couldn't have done it without any of you. While you all deserve special thanks, I really need to thank Sharon & Tony because amidst all my running around, I never got the chance to thank them for all they really did. We can't begin to thank you for everything, but.. whenever we get the "AFTER" party figured out, I hope you all will be there and get to enjoy like you should! (And still get to sleep comfortably in your own beds!) I promise not to make you all travel to another country to celebrate this time! But here's to hoping that just maybe the rest of the ARCHER side will come out to play! :D That includes you non-Archer Canadian folks! Will update soon!

Just thought I'd mention..

I've recently purchased all sorts of cosmetics, eyeshadow, liner, gloss, and the like. I will be bringing it all with me, and I have TONS.. and majority of it is all brand new, I mention it so that people don't go out to buy stuff, you can feel free to check out what I've got and use that stuff if it interests you. I did this so that if anyone wanted to match exactly or incase someone wanted something but forgot to bring it, we'd have something. I don't really have foundation or that sort of thing, as I rarely use anything besides lip gloss, but I did get some luster powder and many different lip gloss and eye liner/shadows in a variety of colours. And I'm sorry ladies, I did NOT buy any Mimi (from the Drew Carey Show) Blue eyeshadow!

Dinner On Sunday July 29!

I would like to get together with you ladies, I am house sitting across the street and they are kind enough to allow me to have guests. So if you could let me know if you are available, I would be more than happy to make dinner, but I do need to know who will be attending. Thanks! Hope to hear from you soon!

Update..

As an update, (since I haven't posted one in a while..) I got a second dress (for the reception). Should there be dancing or what have you, I'd want to not ruin my wedding gown, so I got an ivory and black dress to match the rest of you. (picture will follow later). Also, we are in the process of getting the menu together with the caterers (what a surprise the first estimate was). Also, in the process of figuring out to Wedding Cake or to Mini Cupcake Tower. I'm not sure what we will do, but that too is high on the list. I've already purchased some wedding favors, bought lots of ribbon (though I'm sure we'll need more). I've gotten the cake server and knife, a cake topper (HOWEVER, I am looking for a small castle, perhaps crystal, if anyone has any ideas..). In any event we've still got some planning to do. So feel free to give me a call, drop me an offline or an email and I'll be sure to get back to you ASAP.

Dinner.. Lunch.. Brunch..?

Hi Ladies,

Was wondering if dinner would be possible, or perhaps a lunch/brunch? I realize it's a bit of short notice, I was just thinking it might be nice to get together, and I could show you all some of the stuff going on. I want to get some maps printed and a list of some of the attractions and if we could get together it would be easy to determine what everyone would be interested in. Jamie and I are trying to figure out a good "pre-wedding" party, as neither of us are interested in bachelor/bachelorette parties, and we'd still like to have something before the wedding. So, if anyone is interested please let me know, I'd love to hear from you!

Hope all is well.

A little shopping?

Any of you ladies interested in doing some shopping? I need to get a cake topper, and the cake knife and server. If anyone would like to go do that with me, just let me know!

Oh, and Karen & Jenn, I got your dresses today, I will be sending them out on Tuesday this coming week! They look very nice, I hope they fit well.

Attire Update

I got this message from my cousin Krista:

I bought the dress from macy for me & nis online at a sale price. If it doesn't fit we can exchange at any store. Also, in case anyone is interested, I found the shoes for 49.99 at naturalizer.com Shoes. This is the cheapest i could find it.

Krista also says: shipping is free...also I'm assuming we're ordering the black leather shoe.

And my response is: Well, you can get the leather if that is the one you prefer, we were thinking that the fabric one might be more versatile, but I have no preference, so whatever you like best!

Check it out, maybe it's cheaper this way! Thanks Krista!

Actual Dress

Here are the photos that Natalie sent of her dress, and the photo of the 2 dresses. I wish we had better lighting in the store, but you know how department stores are, heat lamps and not hugely flattering either! Anyway, here they are:

<- Natalie's Dress <- Both of them together..

The dresses on the hangers don't look HALF as good as when you have them on! Hope to hear from you.

Similar Style Dress

I could not find the dress Natalie got, so I put together something similar. It does NO justice to what her dress actually looks like, but it is similar in style and pattern.

< see dresses above! >

This was my semi-pitiful attempt to throw something together to give everyone an idea. So the other dress matches well with this one. I hope you all check them out, and let me know what you think.

Shopping With Natalie!

Ok ladies, here's a little update. Natalie and I went to Macy's today and we walked in, found the dress I was looking to show her. She liked it, I love the look.. She found her size, she tried it on, and don't you know.. PERFECT FIT! It's great, I'm excited I think she's excited. It was the only one left. But NOW the situation necessitates matching dresses. So, I've found a dress that matches MY dress, and her dress, and I believe it will be flattering to ALL of you lovely ladies! It's not traditional, but hey, neither am I right? So here it is:

I am hoping to get some sort of ivory cover up perhaps, cardigan even if that would make you all more comfy. As soon as I find a picture of Natalie's dress I will post here (or maybe she will post here). Then you will see why I picked black and ivory. I have the link to Macy's so if you'd like to order rather than go there, you can do that. Macy's Evan Picone Dress

Her dress is black and ivory also, but has a floral pattern on the bottom half of the dress, so we won't be able to have more pattern because if it's not the matching pattern, we'll all be clashing, which I am really trying to avoid! Any thoughts? Please let me know. Thanks ladies!

Information

If anyone from Los Angeles is looking for information for Montreal, feel free to ask me or Dawn. If you ask her she can relay it to me and I will do my best to answer whatever needs you may have. The day is drawing ever closer and I know people will want to have plans in place. Can't wait to see you all there and celebrate this most joyous of occasions!

Color Scheme Update

Well, I got my dress. It's the ivory/champagne one on the first page of the site I posted earlier. In case I don't get to remove the other image, it's the first one, I haven't gotten to showing the back of the dress yet. So the color scheme has to be slightly modified, where I was hoping for pink and burgundy, my dress is now ivory/champagne. Which changes a lot, however, I would still like to incorporate pink and burgundy. Since I am planning on doing my own flowers, I got ivory and burgundy ribbon to tie the bouquets. I've also found some dresses that have ivory and champagne colors that might work for everyone. Additionally, if you find a dress that you'd like me to see I'd be glad to take a look. I hope to keep updating everyone here, I've been slacking as of late, but I am trying to address all our invitations! So keep an eye out!

Here is an example of what I'm thinking might be a nice solution to everyones concerns!

What do you think? I like the look of the soft flowing skirt, and I think maybe if we find a dress that can have a matching top or a pretty little sweater it would be a very elegant look.

Oh the excitement!

I was talking to one of our friends who will be attending the wedding, and he was looking for things to do while in town. One of the things suggested was Biodome, which I've always wanted to do but never had the chance. So we are thinking one day before the wedding of taking some time to check out Biodome! I'm excited for it, I think they are too, so if you are interested here is a link to the site, check it out and let us know if you'd like to go!

Biodome

I think we could have a great time!

Took a trip to Macy's

I went to Macy's and found a couple dresses that i simply adore, and I think that most of you could be comfy in! Unfortunately after searching their website, they do not show the dresses. If anyone would like to get together this weekend, please let me know we can go check out the dresses (found in the Burbank Macy's in a variety of sizes). Also, I was thinking, if we all agree maybe if you are concerned, whatever the dress we choose, we can get small simple cardigans to go with. That should help some of the "comfy" concerns! Please let me know, thanks!

More Details

Speaking of details, Jamie and I have some ideas, about some of the stuff for the wedding. For me I refuse to pay $200 (or more) for 1 bouquet of flowers because it's a wedding bouquet, I've taken the classes, I can do them myself. I already bought the floral tape, wire, ribbon and other details to do this. We were thinking of going to Costco to buy the flowers a couple days early and making all the bouquets, corsages, and boutineers (spelling?), however, if either Karen or Jenn have any idea of places I can get some lilies, please let me know, or flowers that can be purchased not necessarily in an arrangement. I really want lilies, but if we can't find them I'll use something else, so if you've any ideas on where to get them, please let either me or Jamie know, and we can check them out.

Thanks Bunches!

Sizing

Hi Girls,

It's me, I'm back! Ok so, I think I've heard most of your concerns, and gotten ideas for style now, so it all seems to be getting a little clearer. If I can get each of your dress sizes that would be a great help, I've found a couple dresses that might be good for everyone, and if I can get all of your sizes, I can check to see if they are available. Anyway, other than that, we are still busily trying to get invitations together. Not to mention finding a cake and all sort of good stuff, but in any event we'll figure it out. More about that stuff later, once I get all of your sizes, I can check to see if this place has them, then I'll send out a link to the dress and we'll see how everyone likes it.

Take care!

Update

I added a few dresses and I also added a link to the color swatches, and NO, you do NOT have to wear the infamous Seafoam Green that everyone always dreads! (well, that is unless I think you will look better than me, in which case, prepare for seafoam!) .. (would she do that?).. ..(you never can tell!). Please feel free to leave your comments on the blog, or email, or message me with your thoughts. I also need to know your feelings on style (if you are concerned about certain things, I want to know so I don't try to get something that would make you feel uncomfortable). Of course, I think all of you are beautiful ladies, and yes, I do mean ALL of you. So, sometimes I forget that all you gorgeous women may have your own worries or concerns, but I know I certainly don't want anyone uncomfortable, so please get back to me! I think there should be something for everyone, but again, I don't know what you feel.

And for you ladies in Montreal, I'm not up-to-speed on the places to look for dresses up there, so if either of you have any suggestions, please feel free, and we can check them out.

Thanks again to all of you!

Final Groomsman!

And a big thank you to Jake, a friend of Jamie's he met at work for accepting his invitation and the task of being a groomsman. You know you have to wear a pink ruffled tuxedo right?

Nah, even I'm not THAT mean.

Thank You EVERYONE who's making it possible to have a memorable wedding! We love all of you so very much.

Saturday, September 22, 2007

That's the date, keep it in mind. It seems like it took forever for us to come up with that date, but finally here we are. It's been a great few years but, we've decided that the distance needs to disappear. So come September we've decided to get the wheels in motion for real! We've all of 4 months to get everything in order and set. Where to start?! Well, that's just it, where, is where we started. The ceremony and reception will be held in Canada, Montreal, Val Morin to be more specific. Where is Val Morin? It's a smaller town in the country side just north of Montreal. I found this place online, and fell in love with the beauty of the entire area. The name of the place is Manoir Mazarine. Once we figured out where, it was clear we really needed to figure out who would attend. And with that we determined that the turnout of persons from the US would be slim, but we have not forgotten about you. For those of you who can't make it, we understand. As we are WELL aware it isn't a cheap expense going out of town, and to another country no less. We are expecting mostly Jamie's family and friends to attend, however I have discovered that I have a few people willing to make the treck up to the still snowy north (thankfully, it's an autumn wedding and we won't have to deal with that).

After much discussion, we ALMOST have the entire wedding party picked out and set. The Maid of Honor: Natalie, a very dear friend of mine, whom I've known for quite a few years. We've been through it all it seems, the good the bad and most definitely the ugly, yet there was great, good, and completely amazing! I am so thrilled that you will be there! Bridesmaids: Nissa and Krista (sisters) are my cousins. I can't imagine doing it without them. From the time we were kids doing whatever it was (they know ALL the stuff, we need not mention it all here) til today I am still in closer contact with them than any of my other cousins. And I'm very excited that they accepted! Karen and Jenn (sisters) are Jamie's cousins. Though I have not spent much time with them, they've shown me nothing but kindness and I am so happy that they accepted and can't wait to get to know them even better. Bestman: Jamie's dad Ken. It's no surprise to me that Jamie would ask his dad to be the bestman, he's been nothing but supportive and wonderful to both of us. I can't imagine a better suited person for his bestman. Groomsmen: Todd and Brad, Jamie's brothers. We couldn't have a ceremony and not include them! I mean they're brothers, and I think it's great that they both decided to take part in the wedding. There are two more groomsmen, that have to be asked, they will go un-named until they get a chance to think about it and respond.

With the location and wedding party set, there was still much to do, we still need to figure out the full guest list, send out invitations, etc. We are looking into the catering, the flowers, music, photography, etc. Dressing the wedding party will prove to be the biggest challenge from this distance. We had talked about many different color schemes and styles. But since everything has to match, the first and foremost on the agenda is my bridal gown. I have a couple picked out, my heart is set on one that may not be possible but, we'll see how that goes. Until then, we wont be sure of the color scheme, though several have been picked out. We are hoping for Burgundy, Pink, and a Light Muted Green. Alternatives are Ivory, Champange, Rum, and Latte (no longer are they just drinks!) among others. With any luck this will NOT be the traditional white wedding!

More will follow, but for now I will stop, as I've got a lot of planning left to continue for tonight!
